Rio suspends minerals chief

Authorities have been notified after an investigation revealed $10.5m in payments had been made to a contractor at the Simandou iron ore project

Rio Tinto has suspended the CEO of its minerals and energy division, Alan Davies, in connections with payments made totalling $10.5m to a consultant providing advisory services on its Simandou iron ore project in Guinea.
