Chinese soda ash price rises to continue

As Chinese soda ash producers have already secured price increases, market participants expect momentum to continue. However, a slowdown in China’s real estate sector and increasing imports as a result of the price hikes could curb price growth for domestic manufacturers.

Following five price increases so far this year, Chinese industry participants are optimistic that soda ash prices in the country will increase to over Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 2,000/tonne ($299*) by the end of 2016.
