Phosphate ’16: Fertecon predicts phosphate rock demand will grow annually

Phosphate fertiliser feedstock demand is forecast to grow 1% annually but high-grade rock production is falling. This could further restrain supply if the EU passes regulation to reduce cadmium levels in fertiliser.

Phosphate rock demand is expected to grow 1% per annum, reaching 235m tonnes by 2025, fertiliser consultancy Fertecon forecast during the IM Global Phosphates conference in Amsterdam on 28 November.
