Extra soda ash capacity to push high cost production offline: Ciner

Ciner is planning expansions both at its Turkish and US operations, sparking concerns of oversupply in soda ash. However, the company told IM it believes that less efficient production will come offline as a result, allowing the market to balance.

Capacity expansions by soda ash producers globally are likely to push some higher-cost synthetic soda ash production out of the market, according to Ciner Resources’ CFO, Kevin Kremke.
