Imerys seeks to buy French cement maker Kerneos

The industrial minerals group is seeking to expand its offering of speciality materials for the construction, infrastructure and refractories industries by joining forces with cement maker Kerneos, which owns operations in four continents.

French industrial minerals producer and processor Imerys is proposing the acquisition of calcium aluminate cement maker Kerneos for an estimated €800m ($845m), with a view to expand its speciality materials offering.

Headquartered in France but with nine production sites across five countries, Kerneos manufactures performance binders used in refractories, construction...
