Consolidation in the rare earths sector in China continued in 2016, leading to an improvement in trading patterns, although market prices remained subdued.

China’s rare earth sector saw notable trading activity in 2016 shaped by a wave of strategic policiies implemented throughout the year, although prices remained low, according to the China Nonferrous Industry Association.
