ITC rules Umicore infringing BASF patents with NMC cathodes

Umicore has infringed upon BASF’s and Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) patents, according to an ITC ruling which comes with a complete ban on the import of Umicore’s infringing nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC or NCM) battery cathode materials to the United States.
The International Trade Commission (ITC) has ruled this
month that Umicore has infringed BASF's and Argonne
National Laboratory (ANL) patents.
An ITC Federal Notice states that they are "prohibiting the
unlicensed entry of [infringing] lithium metal oxide cathode
materials…that are manufactured by, or on behalf of, or
imported...
