Borates production on the rise as salt and TiO2 slag decrease.

Growing demand supported Rio Tinto Minerals’ borates production, which grew 6% in 2016 to a total 503,000 tonnes, as both salt and titanium dioxide (TiO2) slag posted lower outputs. 

Borates output in Q4 2016 stood at 121,000 tonnes, decreasing against the previous quarter but growing 13% year-on-year (y-o-y),...
