Oversupply keeps pressure on alumina trihydrate prices

Excess alumina trihydrate supply combined with low consumption rates has kept prices down and the fight for market share between producers is further compounding the weak supply/demand fundamentals.

Global oversupply in alumina trihydrate (ATH) amid weak demand has pressured the flame retardant mineral prices at a time when raw material costs are higher. 

Raw material alumina prices have increased gradually since September 2016, but ATH or precipitated aluminium hydroxide prices has not followed suit as global production...
