Scotland launches public consultation on fracking

Following independent research published in late 2016, the Scottish government has opened a public consultation on fracking, a practice which is currently banned in the country.

The Scottish government has launched a public consultation on the extraction of unconventional oil and gas in the country.

Scotland placed a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in January 2015, while the government investigates the potential impacts of the practice.
