Soda ash exports from China fall 10% in 2016

Soda ash volumes exported from China in 2016 fell by 10% compared with the previous year while the value of the mineral exported dipped by 7% over the same period.

The quantity of soda ash exported from China declined to 1,978,049 tonnes in 2016 compared with 2,197,158 tonnes in 2015.

 Average export prices also dropped 7% y-o-y to $194.63/tonne. In 2015 and 2014, average prices were $209.32/tonne and $217.39/tonne respectively....
