South32 moves into profit as revenue increases

The Australian mining company noted higher prices in the majority of its commodities helped to bolster sales revenue. Saleable alumina production from its Worsley operation, however, saw a decline together with prices.

ASX-listed miner and metals producer South32 Ltd has reported an 8% increase in revenue to $3.22m for the half year ended 31 December 2016.

The company, also reported a move into net profit of $620m during the reporting period, compared with a loss of $1.75bn in the half year end 31...
