Hi-Crush reports Q4 loss as frac sand prices fall y-o-y

The company reported a loss of $7.26m for the last quarter of 2016 as frac sand prices saw a decline compared with 2015. However, the company noted improvements in both demand and prices sequentially, which are expected to continue in 2017.

US silica (frac) sand supplier Hi-Crush Partners LP reported a loss of $7.26m for the fourth quarter of 2016, down from net income of $10.68m the previous year as the average price of frac sand remained lower year-on-year (y-o-y).
