Higher prices boost South African chromite revenues

The rising value of chromite in November 2016 supported overall revenues as demand from foreign buyers continued to increase against a slowdown in domestic sales, according to customs data.

Production of high-grade chromite in South Africa fell in November following a couple of months of growing mine output, although rising prices led to a higher overall turnover despite total volumes sold were flat.
