DW forecasts higher oil and gas spending as US shale recovers

Consultancy firm Douglas Westwood has revised its forecast for onshore expenditure to 2021 as improvements in US shale activity are expected to drive investment in rigs and rig equipment.

Douglas Westwood has revised its growth forecast for the oilfield equipment market to 2021 following a recovery in US shale production.

DW now predicts total onshore expenditure of almost $385bn between 2017 and 2021, compared with a previous estimate of $371bn between 2016-2020 in the last edition of its World...
