IM Graphite 2017: Chinese graphite market failing to benefit from EV boom

Chinese delegates at the IM Graphite & Graphene conference talked about what the booming EV industry means for graphite and mulled the possibility of foreign competitors trying to break the dominance of Chinese producers.

Although the booming electrical vehicle (EV) industry has boosted many minerals in the supply chain, both flake and spherical graphite markets have remained stagnant owing to the serious overcapacity problem in China, delegates at the 2017 Graphite & Graphene conference in Berlin, Germany said last week.
