India salt production to nearly double by 2025: Dev Salt

Growing soda ash and chlor-alkali industries in India will support and drive domestic salt production higher, producer Dev Salt told delegates at the Roskill’s 2017 Salt conference.

India salt production will nearly double to exceed 50m tonnes by 2025, Dev Salt Pvt Ltd chairman DS Jhala said at the conference 28 March in Dusseldorf, Germany. 

In 2015, salt output in India was at 27.8m tpa, with nearly half of the production or 11.6m tonnes consumed for industries....
