Rio's bauxite, alumina output drops in Q1

Bauxite and alumina production fell on a sequential basis following weather issues at the Weipa bauxite mine in Queensland.

Rio Tinto reduced its bauxite and alumina production in the first quarter of this year against Q4 2016 although bauxite output rose 2% on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, the company reported on 20 April.

Bauxite production stood at 11.3m tonnes in Q1 2017, down 7% from the previous quarter....
