PPG makes third takeover bid to AkzoNobel

The US company has raised its previous offer price to take over AkzoNobel by 8% and has committed not to relocate European production facilities to the US, as well as agreeing a divestiture programme to face off possible antitrust issues.

US paints and coatings producer PPG has made a fresh attempt at engaging Dutch group AkzoNobel in takeover discussions, following two previous refusals on the part of the European company.
