China Q1 magnesia exports hit record high as values plunge

Following the cancellation of the export tax on magnesia at the start of the year shipments from the country have continued to increase with CCM and DBM export volumes hitting record highs in March. The average value or price of magnesia exported, meanwhile, continues to decline.

The value of exported magnesia, including calcined caustic magnesia (CCM), dead burned magnesia (DBM),  fused magnesia (FM),   dropped over 20% year-on-year, while the quantity of material exported has risen, following the scrapping of the export quota in January.
