Higher steel activity supports Magnesita’s Q1 sales

The Brazilian company saw improved revenues for refractories sales to steelmakers and industrial customers, while raw material turnover surged.

Brazilian refractories maker Magnesita Refratários S.A. reported an increase in revenues in the first quarter of 2017 on the back of higher volumes sold and a positive currency effect, however profits remained down year-on-year (y-o-y).
