China's illegal rare earth mining crackdown bearing fruit, ministry says

Six months into a nationwide clampdown on illegal mining, the rare earths industry in China is seeing some sign of improvement, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced the progress of the crackdown on illegal rare earth industrial activities in the country.

Started in November 2016 across 23 provinces and areas in China, a total of 415 companies have been inspected...
