Noranda's new owners invest in alumina capacity

The US-based alumina producer, recently spun out from the bankrupt Noranda Aluminium, gets backing for expansion from Louisiana state government

Noranda Alumina LLC is to invest in new production capacity, just months after the business was taken over by Dada holdings following the bankruptcy of its parent company.

Noranda has approved over $35m of investments at its refinery, in Gramercy, Louisiana, with hefty support from the Louisiana state government.
