China plans logistics reform to boost railway freight by 2020

The Chinese government is planning to invest heavily to develop the country’s delivery infrastructure to enable an integrated logistics network, connecting international and domestic transportation, by 2020. Under the plan, mineral transportation within China could be simplified, with shorter delivery time and at potentially lower cost.
The Chinese government aims to significantly improve its
domestic and international transportation network by 2020, with
a particular focus on railway freight growth, the national
development and reform commission (NDRC) said on 21 June.
