Metro Mining secures go-ahead for Bauxite Hills mine

The miner has been granted environmental permit and found financial backing to continue developing the expanded bauxite mining site it now controls following the acquisition of junior Gulf Alumina.

Australian bauxite developer Metro Mining Ltd has secured debt financing and the environmental permits that are necessary for the development of its expanded Bauxite Hills mine in the country, the company announced.

Following the latest approvals, Metro said operations are on track to achieve first material shipment in Q2 2018.
