Higher steel production supports Vesuvius’ H1

Rising steel output globally in the first half of 2017 supported Vesuvius’ sales to steelmakers, leading to higher profits and turnover, but rising raw material prices are a concern.

Refractories manufacturer Vesuvius Plc posted double-digit growth in revenue and profit in the first half of the year, supported by improvement in steel markets and by the effect of a deep cost savings programme.
