Fresh environmental checks cap Chinese output, lift brown fused alumina prices

Key fused alumina province Henan has been hit by another round of environmental controls, which have again disrupted production operations. Supply issues are exacerbated by rising raw material costs, pushing mineral prices upwards.

Brown fused alumina spot prices increased at the end of July amid spiralling production cost while a renewed wave of intense environmental controls in China further restricted production.
