Demand from automotive, aerospace drives Solvay’s Q2 growth

Demand for polymers and composites from automotive and aerospace have led to sales volume growth in Solvay’s key divisions in the quarter.
Belgian-headquartered chemicals group Solvay saw
double-digit growth in income and sales in the second quarter
of 2017, driven by high demand for composites in a number of
end markets.
Total revenues for Q2 rose 38% year-on-year (y-o-y) to
€3.02bn ($3.55bn), while underlying net profit surged 38%
