Strong iodine, lithium drive SQM in Q2

Revenues in both iodine and lithium posted substantial growth, as the miner announced it will expand iodine capacity at Nueva Victoria to ease bottleneck issues. Lithium demand is seen as on the rise.

Chilean miner Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. (SQM) posted double-digit profit growth in the second quarter of the year on the back of higher iodine and lithium sales, as the company expects higher lithium prices in H2.
