Altech aims for higher HPA production capacity

The company will seek to produce material suitable for the battery end-market – where HPA can be used as separator sheet with flame retardant characteristics – as well as synthetic sapphire for LEDs and electronic components.

ASX-listed Altech Chemicals Ltd has increased the capacity for its proposed high-purity alumina (HPA) plant in Malaysia to 4,500 tonnes per year (tpy), and has carried out a final investment decision study (FIDS) for the development of the project.
