Vesuvius reports increased refractories trading in Q3

Refractories sales were on the rise in the third quarter on increased steel output, although raw materials sourcing issues continued to bite.

Increases in steel output reported in major global markets in 2017 to date have supported sales of refractory materials for UK-based manufacturer Vesuvius, the company reported in its latest trading update on Tuesday November 14.

But high costs and tightness in raw materials supplies are creating commercial headwinds, it added.
