Global lithium contract prices rise while contract periods shorten

The global lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) market has seen a 10-20% price increase on contracts signed for 2018, while contract durations have shortened due to price uncertainty caused by undersupply in the global market.

Prices in the global lithium contract market are catching up with the Chinese domestic and seaborne spot markets, which are known to be the drivers of the lithium industry price.
