US regulators issue complaint against Cristal aquisiton

Tronox's purchase of the titanium dioxide (TiO2) maker could create an "oligopoly" in US chloride-route supply, the Federal Trade Commission says.

The United States’ Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued an administrative complaint against Tronox’s $1.67 billion acquisition of Cristal. The proposed merger could significantly limit competition in North American TiO2 markets, the complaint says.
