US soda ash exports rise; production flat against 2016

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) monthly report for October shows production stayed inline with the previous year's levels, with exports up almost a third against the previous year.

US soda ash exports in September rose by 5% month on month, and 31% year on year, to 593,000 tonnes, according to a survey by the USGS.

Mexico, Indonesia and Brazil were the three largest export markets, accounting for 851,000, 651,000 and 515,000 tonnes respectively. Other large buyers include...
