Lack of Chinese soda ash for export keeps prices stable

China has become a net importer of soda ash, which means it is keeping prices high for any material available for export.

There was little change in the price from the previous week, ending January 4, on a lack of market activity because a limited amount of Chinese product is available for export.

The spread narrowed on the top end for synthetic, dense and light soda ash, on a fob China basis...
