Westwater eyes US battery minerals supply with Alabama Graphite takeover

Westwater Resources' acquisition of Alabama Graphite should be a complementary addition to its energy portfolio, with a specific focus on strategic US assets, in line with the US administration’s push for local supply chains, the company told Industrial Minerals.

US-based diversified miner Westwater Resources is branching out into the graphite space with its proposed buyout of a local junior miner, at a time when authorities are looking at the mineral as one of a list of critical resources to support domestically.
