China's 2018 new energy vehicle (NEV) subsidies prioritize pure electric vehicles with higher driving range and energy density while phasing out subsidies for vehicles with ranges of under 150km.
The NEV subsidy policy was first established in 2015 as part
of China's 13th Five-Year Plan to develop, consolidate and make
sustainable the Chinese battery industry.
