Mining rights seen as ‘formality’ for world’s largest fluorspar deposit at Doornhoek

The Doornhoek project in South Africa holds the largest fluorspar reserves in the world, with operator SA Fluorite reportedly awaiting approval of mining rights application before conducting feasibility studies.

The Doornhoek project should receive within the next few months the mining rights needed to bring 180,000 tonnes per year of fluorspar to the market within two or three years, a source close to the company said, describing this process  as a "formality."
