Permian Basin frac sand supply boom chiefly threatens fine mesh prices, Deckard says

Planned nameplate capacity for sand production exceeds the potential demand for 100 mesh material, but the outlook for coarser grades is seen to be more positive.

The supply of frac sand for drilling operations in the Permian Basin in the United States will reduce the prices for fine mesh sand, but supply and demand for coarser grades of material will remain more balanced, Fairmount Santrol boss Jennifer Deckard has told investors.
