Chilean, Korean, Chinese companies to invest in lithium products in Chile

Development agency Corfo has selected Molymet, Samsung and Fulin to invest in value-added lithium products in Chile. Meanwhile, Albemarle has been given permission to raise production of lithium to 140,000 tpy, while the promoter of both these deals, Eduardo Bitran, has stepped down.

The Chilean Economic Development Agency (Corfo) approved on Friday March 9 the business proposals presented by Molymet of Chile, Samsung SDI and Posco of South Korea, and China’s Sichuan Fulin Industrial Group for investment in value-added lithium products in the South American country.
