Fluorsid to purchase Solvay HF plant

Fluorsid is expanding further into the fluoropolymer market with a new acquisition from Solvay, following the purchase of a Norwegian hydrofluoric acid (HF) plant in 2016.

Fluorsid subsidiary, Alkeemia, is set to acquire the Porto Marghera-Venice HF production plant from Solvay following a preliminary agreement announced on March 15 by the two parties.

Alkeemia will assume ownership of the entire Portugal-based branch, which has capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year of HF, with all 71 employees...
