US monthly soda ash production dips in January

A decrease of just over 100,000 tonnes per month in US output will not alarm the market, particularly given the increasing inventories.

US soda ash production dropped by 10% month-on-month in January, while inventories increased for the third consecutive month, ending at 307,000 tonnes.

Data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) shows that total production for January was 992,000 tonnes, against 1.1 million tonnes produced...
