Chinese lithium carbonate prices soften amid slip in consumption

Global lithium prices were largely flat this week although Chinese lithium carbonate prices softened on market inactivity, with downstream buyers in no hurry to place orders while they shifted their focus to cobalt.

Market prices for lithium grades in China have gone unchanged over the past week because of a fall in consumption, with the exception of the lithium carbonate technical and industrial (min 99% Li2CO3) grade, for which the price has softened.
