EU exemption from US tariffs may bring temporary relief to glass sector

The container glass sector is concerned about how market activity may be impeded by the newly imposed US trade tariffs, which pose questions for soda ash demand.

US President Donald Trump announced late on Thursday March 22 that the EU will be temporarily exempt from the tariffs imposed under Section 232 on imports of aluminium and steel, a development that will allow glass products to be traded normally for now.
