US drilling activity hits three-year high

The US rig count, a key proxy for oilfield mineral demand, is soaring, while activity elsewhere appear to remain stagnant.

New drilling and oilfield activity remains heavily concentrated in the US, while activity elsewhere is moribund, according to recently released data.
