Sparse buying activity leaves Chinese magnesia export prices steady

Export prices for all grades of Chinese magnesia remained stable this week, despite the declining availability of spot materials, because magnesite mining has been halted since mid-April.

Sluggish buying activity in China’s magnesia market has left prices unchanged this week, with most overseas buyers holding back in the hope of getting cheaper material if the country’s government allows miners to restart the extraction of magnesite.
