Bauxite prices drop on low demand

Chinese bauxite sellers are lowering their offer prices despite supply conditions being as tight as ever, while distressed selling by cash-strapped producers is thought to be contributing to the market’s downtrend.

Market prices for Chinese bauxite are falling from their previous levels because producers are reducing their quotes to secure new orders, while the supply situation in China remains problematic because of continuing restrictions on their extraction processes.
