Lithium price rises continue to drive SQM results in Q1

Consistently strong lithium prices achieved by SQM and the current undersupply in the market helped to increase the Chilean producer’s revenues and earnings in January-March 2018.

Average lithium prices achieved by Chilean producer Sociedad Quimica y Minera (SQM) increased by 21.48% quarter-on-quarter in the first three months of 2018 to about $16,400 per tonne, it said in a financial statement released on Wednesday May 23.
