Alpine Silica joins Oklahoma sand rush

Oklahoma is the new ‘boom town’ for sand mining, with another unit with capacity for 3 million tons per year planned to be on line within six months.

Another day, another new Oklahoma frac sand mine. Alpine Silica announced on Wednesday June 6 that it plans to construct a new frac sand plant in the increasingly busy US state, with capacity for more than 3 million short tons per year.
