China’s NEV output up 86% year-on-year in May

China’s output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) continued to rise year-on-year in May, supported by the upward momentum of the sector.

China produced 96,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in May 2018, including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids. This volume was up by 85.6% from May last year, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
